#SaveTheArts

The arts are currently under threat due to closure of theatres, cinema, galleries, festivals. The industry has been greatly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Cuts have been made and many creative jobs have been lost. We need your help to save the creative industry.

The arts employ over 2 million people in the UK and helps so many more emotionally, physically and financially. The allowance of self expression and knowledge and awareness on topics help us to progress in any path whether that be in any career, in your hobbies or at home.

Whilst the UK has been staying at home, the amount of online performances and digital theatre has risen and it is important that we support the arts especially in these difficult times and remain aware on the powerful and positive effect it has on our everyday lives.

BEHIND THE SCENES

'Filming for the Art of Dedication documentary was a really exciting experience and I felt it really allowed me to share what I do and what I love. I think it is important to raise awareness on the pressure that comes with training and performing.' - Alice, 19

MENTAL HEALTH

Whilst shooting for Art of Dedication we spoke to come of our actors and the team to ask their views on mental health and the progression of mental health awareness.

'Many would say that the rise of social media has made younger people more insecure or gives them more opportunity to compare themselves to others, yet I believe social media has increased the awareness of mental health problems and has given many people knowledge on the subject and helped them to battle it.' - Joe, 32, Production Team

Tap dance is a dance genre that initially evolved over around 300 years. This style originated in the United States with a mix of several percussive dances dance styles, mainly from West African sacred step dances and Scottish, British Irish clog dances and jigs. Latin American and Afro- Caribbean rhythms in the 1940s changed and enhanced the complexity of tap dance.

From the around 1930, tap dance sequences became a staple of movies and television especcially in Hollywood.
